Useful things shouldn't end up in a landfill.
ZeroCart is a place for donated goods. People and organisations list items they no longer need, and anyone can claim one for the cost of shipping.
Nothing costs money
Items are donated, so they're listed at $0.00. Shipping is the only line on your receipt.
Every listing is checked
We photograph and grade each donation before it goes live, and we say plainly what condition it's in.
You can watch it travel
Every claim gets a tracking ID the moment it ships, so you're never guessing where a parcel is.
Local pickup, when it fits
If the donor is near you, skip the courier entirely and collect it in person for nothing.
How we started
ZeroCart began as a spreadsheet. A handful of us kept passing on furniture, laptops and kitchenware to whoever needed them, and kept losing track of who had what. The spreadsheet became a listings page, the listings page became this.
The rules haven't changed since that spreadsheet: nothing is sold, the person who asks first gets it, and shipping is charged at cost so the service pays for itself.
Where the $8.50 goes
It covers the courier label, packing materials and the card processing fee. We don't take a margin on it. If an order ships cheaper than expected, the difference goes toward the next donor's postage.
Donating something
We take working electronics, furniture in usable condition, books, kitchenware and tools. We can't take mattresses, car seats, opened cosmetics or anything with a safety recall. Email us a photo and we'll tell you within a day.
Have a look at what's listed
New donations go up most days. Claiming takes about a minute.
